Concussion Baseline Testing

Baseline concussion testing for Moon Area Student Athletes will be conducted ideally during their 7th, 9th and 11th grade years as well as for any new students participating for the first time in sports. 

A baseline test is considered valid for at least two years and once this procedure is fully in place, it will allow us to more easily facilitate who needs to be tested.  If a student comes out for a program for the first time and is not in these grades, they will immediately be tested, regardless of grade, and then follow the above protocol.    

Coaches and athletes will be clearly told that to participate in practice the first day of the season, they must have a current baseline on file or they will not be permitted to practice or play until the baseline test is completed.  If students sign up to participate over the summer or once school starts, the same procedure will be in place.
